The satirical release described a new line of business focused on delivering intentionally inconsistent, incomplete, and “aspirational” rent data, using methods such as scraping, outdated surveys, and “Optimism-Adjusted Rents™.”
While the announcement was fictional, the underlying issue it highlighted is not.
