Major customer agreement demonstrates strong demand for AI-ready data centre capacity in London
LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM, September 1, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Green Mountain Global has signed a contract with a major Neocloud operator for 14 MW of data centre capacity at its LON-East campus in Romford, East London.
The agreement represents a significant milestone for Green Mountain’s UK business and will see the customer occupy the recently delivered 14 MW of AI-ready capacity.
LON-East is an established 37 MW data centre campus strategically located in East London. The site combines available power, high-density cooling capability and exceptional network connectivity, making it ideally suited to the rapidly growing requirements of AI, cloud and high-performance computing customers. The new capacity has been designed to support demanding AI infrastructure, with a range of air, liquid and hybrid cooling solutions and the ability to accommodate rack densities of more than 100 kW using advanced liquid cooling.
“This is an important milestone for Green Mountain Global and a strong endorsement of both our LON-East campus and our strategy for the UK market,” said Simon Blackburn, Managing Director, Green Mountain UK. “Neocloud operators are at the forefront of the extraordinary growth we are seeing in AI infrastructure, and their requirements for power density, scalability, connectivity, and speed to market are particularly demanding.”
“Securing a 14 MW customer at LON-East demonstrates that East London can provide the infrastructure needed to support the next generation of AI and cloud platforms. We are delighted to welcome this customer to the campus and look forward to supporting their future growth.” continues Blackburn.
LON-East benefits from its position on major fibre routes connecting East London with the City of London, Docklands, Slough and international destinations. The carrier-neutral campus has multiple diverse fibre entry points and access to a broad range of network providers, enabling high-capacity, low-latency connectivity to key London data centre clusters, cloud platforms and major European markets.
Green Mountain DC UK acquired the freehold of the eight-acre Romford site in 2026, giving the company long-term control of the campus and supporting continued investment and expansion. In addition to the capacity covered by the new customer agreement, Green Mountain DC UK has power and planning secured for a further phase of development at LON-East.
